Higher/Advanced Paeds Trainees

 

The curriculum is designed around a spiral learning approach whereby you should complete your Higher Paeds before emabarking on 6 months Advanced Paeds.

For some time we have accomodated signing off Higher and Advanced Paeds within a 6 month placement at BCH, where training time has been tight. This will no longer be possible!

The college has become very strict with their requirement to have a full 12 months of time attributed to Advanced training. This includes a full 6 months for Advanced Paeds. So within a 6 month placement for advanced paeds at BCH it will not be possible to attribute time to higher paeds.

What if you already have Higher and Advanced signed off in only 6 months?

Make an appointment to see me and we can come up with a plan. This may involve a top up period of time ranging from 1-3 months at either UHNM or NX. Alternatively you may be able to assign an appropriate period of training to higher or advanced paeds to make up the shortfall.
